We’re celebrating — and a little bit hoarse for all the cheering — here at the Ball Caps Blog tonight. The San Francisco Giants have won the World Series on a combination of great pitching from Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson and a three-run homer from Edgar Renteria.

Congratulations to the Giants, and best wishes to the Texas Rangers, a fine team that had the bad fortune to get steamrolled by destiny in the form of Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, Aubrey Huff, Andres Torres, Bruce Bochy and all the other Giants wearing the orange and black.

  1. How ironic that after all the great seasons that Barry Bonds had, they end up winning the World Series without him. Renteria always could hit lefties. And he was always better in the N.L. than in the A.L. Still, no way anyone predicted him to be the Series MVP before the thing got started.
    Congrats, Giants! Bill
